Small group tour of Priorat oils and wines from Salou, Cambrils or Tarragona

We’ll begin our day in a small group, departing from your hotel in Salou, Cambrils, or Tarragona at the agreed-upon time, heading into the Priorat region in a comfortable vehicle suitable for a maximum of 8 people. The intimate and relaxed atmosphere of this shared tour allows for a close, cultural, and authentic experience.

Our first stop will be Cabacés, after a drive of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. There, we’ll visit the renowned Cabacés Agricultural Cooperative, founded in 1933 and famous for the quality of its extra virgin olive oil. During a guided tour of the oil mill, we’ll learn about the oil production process, from harvesting to bottling, and discover how tradition is combined with modern techniques. We’ll participate in a guided tasting where we’ll sample different varieties of oil and enjoy a small pairing with bread, olives, and local cured meats.

After this tasty introduction, we’ll head to Gratallops, one of the most iconic villages in Priorat, surrounded by terraced vineyards and mountains. There, we’ll take a guided tour of a winery selected as one of the most prestigious in the area. We’ll explore its vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, and conclude with a tasting of four wines accompanied by local products such as cheeses and cured meats, in a peaceful setting steeped in winemaking history.

After the experience, we’ll return comfortably to your accommodation in Salou, Cambrils, or Tarragona, bringing to a close a day that combines culture, landscapes, and flavors with the welcoming atmosphere of a small group. An ideal way to discover the soul of Priorat in a close and enriching way.

Cabacés and the Agricultural Cooperative

Cabacés, located in the Priorat region, is a small town with a long tradition of extra virgin olive oil production. The Cabacés Agricultural Cooperative, founded in 1933, is a leading producer of Siurana DOP olive oil. A visit to the oil mill allows you to learn about the entire oil production process, from olive harvesting to bottling. The experience is completed with a guided tasting that allows you to distinguish the varieties and qualities of the oil, accompanied by a pairing workshop with local products such as artisan bread, cured meats, and olives.

Gratallops

In the heart of Priorat, Gratallops is the epicenter of high-quality viticulture in Catalonia. It is home to some of the most renowned wineries in the DOQ Priorat, thanks to its llicorella (slate) terroir, which gives the wines a unique character. Winery visits include tours of the terraced vineyards and explanations of the winemaking process. The tasting, generally consisting of four wines, is paired with local products such as cured cheeses and cured meats. Gratallops is also home to renowned winemakers such as Álvaro Palacios, whose work has brought international acclaim to the area.

Landscapes of Priorat

The route between Cabacés and Gratallops passes through some of the most characteristic landscapes of Priorat, with vineyard-covered hills, cobbled terraces, and small villages rooted in time. This region has been recognized by UNESCO as an Agricultural Cultural Landscape of Outstanding Value. The rugged terrain and dry Mediterranean climate with continental influences favor both wine and olive oil production, in an environment where traditional agriculture coexists with the most modern sustainable production techniques.
