Cadaques
There is what was the house of the genius of surrealist painting: Salvador Dalí. Known as the House-Museum of Portlligat, a set of fisherman’s huts are seen as a maze that Dalí modified for 40 years and thus make his incredible residence-workshop a reality. Walking through the patio or rooms of different proportions or seeing Dalí’s objects such as carpets, old furniture or extravagances such as giant eggs, a lip-shaped armchair or a Michelin doll, is an incredible experience. In Cadaqués you can also enjoy a charming town on the Costa Brava.
Salvador Dalí Theater-Museum
It is a museum dedicated entirely to the painter Salvador Dalí is located in the Gala-Salvador Dalí square, number 5, in Figueras, the Theater-Museum was the third most visited museum in Spain in 2017, with 1 207 149 visitors, being located in the position number 40 of its ranking of the 100 most visited art museums in the world. Due to its large influx of public and commercial management, it could be the only Spanish museum that can fully finance itself with its own income
Managed by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation. The artist left in his will a large number of works of art to the Spanish State, these were distributed between this museum and the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid.
Sant Pere de Rodes
Located on one of the tops of the Sierra de Rodes, a chain on the seafront north of Alt Empordà. It was the main spiritual center of the county of Empúries from the eleventh to the fourteenth century, its splendor is shown in the great dimensions of the monacal complex. Sant Pere de Rodes is formed by the church, the bell tower, the cloister, the sacristies, the conventional living quarters and the Abbot’s palace.
It is built on terraces to couple the land and the varied buildings are structured around the cloister and the church, built between the 10th and 11th centuries. In these two buildings it is to admire the unique sample of the Romanesque sculpture: the columns and capitals that crown them show the notorious classical power that this particular church has.
In its exterior different scenes of the life of Christ are sculpted in white marble. The few fragments that have been visualized show their impressive quality, one of the best of their time.
From the monastery you can enjoy one of the best views of Cap de Creus.
Cap de Creus lighthouse
Located inside the Cap de Creus Natural Park, in the easternmost part of the Iberian Peninsula is this lighthouse surrounded by an incredible natural charm. This is the second oldest lighthouse in Catalonia.
It is a large building with an 11-meter tower and is currently an information office for the entire area of Cap de Creus. From there you get stunning panoramic views of the entire rocky area and the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, there is a restaurant right next door to enjoy the cuisine and some coves a few meters away like Cala Fredosa and Cala Jugadora.
Port of the Jungle
It is a small fishing village located in the northern part of Cap de Creus or Cabo de Creus.
It is a town full of peace and tranquility. It is not the typical beach town seized by tourism. It is not full of hotels and the original architecture has been respected.
Its beaches are one of the best in Catalonia and Spain, its transparent waters of a turquoise blue together with the landscape of Cap de Creus formed by the Tramontana winds show a unique place in the world. Port has from great beaches right in front of the town, to the smallest coves between the cliffs of the Cape of Creus.
