At the museum, we will spend time admiring some of Dalí’s most famous works, including paintings, sculptures and several installations that challenge the mind. For those who are not museum lovers, we can assure you that the Dalí Museum exceeds all expectations, not only for its paintings, but for its way of understanding the world of art.

We will continue our journey towards the picturesque medieval villages, starting with Pals. Upon arrival we will head to the Mirador del Pedró, one of the highest points in the town. From here, you will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view that encompasses the rice fields, the Empordà plain and, on clear days, even the Pyrenees. This is the perfect place to take some photos and capture the beauty of the surroundings.

From the viewing point, we will descend through the narrow streets flanked by stone houses adorned with colorful flowers. We will visit the Torre de les Hores, a 12th-century Romanesque tower that used to be part of the old defensive wall. Its name comes from the bell tower added in the 15th century. The tower is one of the emblems of Pals and offers a fascinating insight into medieval architecture.

Time for lunch

We continue our route to Peratallada, another beautiful medieval town with a castle, walls, moats and palaces, just 10 minutes away by car. Once there, we will enjoy a walk through its cobbled streets and the stone facades that characterize this town. The Plaza de les Voltes is the heart of Peratallada, known for its well-preserved medieval center.

To end this charming day, we will head towards the coast to enjoy a dinner facing the sea. The restaurant, located in a picturesque coastal location, will offer you a memorable culinary experience overlooking the Mediterranean. You will be able to taste a delicious local dish such as seafood paella, made with rice, or fresh seafood. All this while enjoying the sea breeze and the sound of the waves.

Finally, we will close this day of adventure by returning to Barcelona.

Dalí Museum in Figueres

Located in Salvador Dalí’s hometown, the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres is a masterpiece of surrealism and one of the most visited museums in Spain. Walking through its cobbled streets, surrounded by stone houses and flowery balconies, is like walking through a fairy-tale setting. From the Mirador del Pedró, you can admire the vast rice fields that surround the town, recalling the rice-growing tradition of the area, which is still alive today.

Peratallada

Considered one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Catalonia, Peratallada is an architectural treasure literally carved into the stone. Its name comes from the Catalan “pedra cortada” (carved stone), reflecting the impressive wall and streets sculpted directly into the rock. This village was an important defensive enclave in the Middle Ages and still preserves its majestic castle, its moat dug into the rock and the Plaza de les Voltes, a charming corner with arched arcades where history and everyday life intertwine. Walking through its narrow streets is like discovering a place where time seems to have stopped, offering a magical atmosphere and endless picturesque corners.
