BESALÚ AND PAELLA TOUR IN TOSSA DE MAR

This tour combines two of Catalonia’s most historic villages, bringing together one of Spain’s most beautiful villages, as praised by National Geographic, and a coastal medieval town crowned by its impressive castle.

Tour Itinerary:

We’ll begin your day early in the morning with a visit to Besalú, a beautifully preserved medieval village known for its stunning architecture and historic atmosphere. Upon arrival, we’ll cross the famous 11th-century fortified bridge, an iconic structure offering picturesque views of the river and village.

Once across the bridge, we’ll explore the heart of Besalú, where cobblestone streets and ancient buildings make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. As we wander through the streets, we’ll visit the old Jewish Quarter, home to a rare 12th-century Jewish ritual bath, one of the few remaining in Europe.

Our exploration will continue to the Plaça Major, where you’ll see the Church of Sant Vicenç and other medieval buildings. On the way back, there will be time to browse small shops offering artisan crafts and local products.

We’ll then head to the seaside town of Tossa de Mar, where a Mediterranean paella awaits us with a view of the sea. Paella, Spain’s emblematic dish, is perfect for sharing and offers a relaxing lunch after a morning of sightseeing.

After a delightful lunch, we’ll explore Vila Vella, the ancient walled city of Tossa, along with its castle. Vila Vella is the only fortified medieval town remaining on the Catalan coast and offers stunning sea views from its walls.

Tossa de Mar is also famous for its beautiful beaches and excellent seafood cuisine. We’ll stroll through the narrow, cobbled streets and enjoy some free time to browse the charming shops and cafés in this picturesque setting.

Finally, we’ll end this day of adventure by returning to Barcelona.
