Tour of Aranjuez
We start this trip in the early morning from Madrid, by car with guide, the first stop is in the famous Royal Palace of Aranjuez, here you will enjoy a variety of decorative styles, where the Porcelain Cabinet or called the Chinese Room and the Throne Hall of Isabel II stand out.
The Prince’s Gardens, El Parterre and the Island have an amazing setting, we will discover the most important gardens of the Time of the Austrias in Spain, these by joining with the only architecture of the palaces, granted the whole of a unique fusion that was declared by Unesco in 2001 as “Cultural Landscape Heritage of Humanity”.
The next stop is at the Museum of Falúas Reales, here are shown the boats used by the Kings to sail the Tagus river, especially two, the gondola of Felipe V and the falúa of Charles IV, in the museum you can also enjoy utensils for navigation of the time and paintings of the Spanish squadron.
A space will take a lunch space and follow the route to Toledo.
Visit to Toledo
In Toledo we arrive at Plaza Zocodover, we will walk the streets to the town hall square, where we can get to know the spectacular Cathedral of Toledo and the old Palace of Justice. INFORMATION OF ARANJUEZ
Aranjuez and its History
Alfonso VIII placed this border area under the power of the royal Order of Santiago in 1171.
In 1178, it is the definitive conquest of Aranjuez, which is transformed into the residence of the Grand Masters of the Order. These spend long periods of rest in the Palace, they build it in the place where later the Royal Palace would rise. For this reason, the cross of Santiago is part of the Aranjuez shield, allowed by the Council of Ministers on February 17, 1956.
Royal Palace of Aranjuez
It is one of the dwellings of the Spanish royal family, located in the Real Sitio and Villa de Aranjuez, in the Community of Madrid. The palace, managed and maintained as a National Heritage, is located on the banks of the Tagus River.
Prince’s Gardens
It is a group of forests and parks with ornate gardens with a large number of fountains and statues of the Spanish city of Aranjuez, next to the Tagus River and the Royal Palace. The gardens, are part of the Cultural Landscape of Aranjuez and are in the care of the National Heritage, these were declared by UNESCO in 2011 as a World Heritage Site. There are a total of four: the Parterre, the Island, the Prince and Isabel II.
Museum of Royal Falluas
Located inside the Prince’s Garden near the jetty, there is one of the most impressive collections of boats that the kings of Spain use to navigate the Tagus and even the Ontígola Sea. The Carlos IV falúa stands out, created in Cartagena and decorated by Salvador Maella. In addition, you can see the paintings referring to the Spanish squadron of the 19th century.
Zocodover Square
It is a square in the city of Toledo. It was the neural center of the city most of its history, it was the main square of it. A part was determined by Juan de Herrera during the reign of Felipe II.
Toledo cathedral
It is a building of Gothic architecture, considered by some as the magnum opus of the Gothic style in Spain. In 1226 its construction began under the reign of Ferdinand III the Saint and his last Gothic contributions were in the fifteenth century. It is built with white Olivuelas stone.
Church of Santo Tome
Fully rebuilt in the early fourteenth century commissioned by the Lord of Orgaz. The tower is one of the greatest examples of Toledo Mudejar art. In its two upper bodies, of brick, there are sets of two and three windows of tumulous arches scalloped by other lobes. One of El Greco’s most famous paintings, “The Burial of Count Orgaz”, which is made known to the public in a special room, is kept inside.
