OVERVIEW OF THE MONTSERRAT & GAUDÍ TOUR
We will begin our adventure at Colonia Güell, a fascinating example of modernist architecture, designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí. Owned by patron Eusebi Güell, this colony is famous for its unfinished church, which stands out for its unique design and innovative use of geometry. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore this iconic site and learn about its history and Gaudí’s vision.
After this immersion in Gaudí’s work, we will head to Montserrat, where we will take the rack railway, the easiest means of ascending this impressive mountain. During the journey, you will enjoy spectacular views that will take your breath away. Upon arrival, you will take an introductory visit to Montserrat, which will connect you with the rich history and culture of the place.
You will visit the Escolania de Montserrat, one of the oldest children’s choirs in Europe, where you can listen to their sweet melodies in a sacred environment. You will also explore the Montserrat Museum, which houses a remarkable collection of works by renowned artists and will offer you free time to enjoy lunch or purchase the famous Montserrat cheese. Finally, you will visit the Montserrat Monastery, home to the image of La Moreneta, patron saint of Catalonia, a place of devotion and spirituality.
