MONTSANT AND PRIORAT WINE TOUR IN 4X4

Exploring Montsant and Priorat in a single day is an unforgettable experience. It will provide us with culture, enviable landscapes, tranquility, excitement, fun and an unforgettable memory.

We will leave Barcelona on board our vehicle, travelling through the beautiful landscapes of the territory of Catalonia. Upon arriving in the Montsant region we will begin our tour in Cornudella, where we will visit the Wine Cathedral, a Montsant wine cooperative. In Catalonia, with the arrival of phylloxera in the 19th century, Catalan farmers became impoverished and cooperativism was born as an opportunity to unite among themselves. The personal and economic contributions of the peasants of the town and the impetus of the Catalan Commonwealth made the construction of the current Celler Cooperatiu possible. This winery was designed by Cèsar Martinell and Brunet, a Catalan architect who was a disciple of Gaudí.

Next, we will visit one of the Cornudella Wineries, with highly prestigious wines, in one of the most beautiful and incredible wineries in the region. There we will have a tasting of its most characteristic wines.

Right there in Cornudella, we will take a 4×4 vehicle to explore scenic routes that lead through the vineyards, hills and mountains full of vineyards. The guide will take us through forest routes from Cornudella, the capital of Montsant, to Falset, the capital of Priorat. We will have 2 hours of adventure ahead of us. At the end of the route, we arrive at Falset, the capital of Priorat.

There we will get to know the Wine Catadral through an outside visit. It is a Winery or rather an architectural jewel between modernism and novocentism.

Exposed brick, stone, plaster and ceramics combine to achieve a characteristic aesthetic and striking shapes. Large classically inspired arches, lots of light in the interiors and all the technological details of the time applied to winemaking.

There our vehicle will be waiting for us, which will take us to Gratallopsm in the heart of the Priorat. There we will have time for lunch.

We will enjoy a quiet walk through the narrow cobbled streets of Gratallops. We will explore the traditional architecture of the stone houses and discover the charming atmosphere of the town.

We will take advantage of the opportunity and head towards the Mirador de la Finca de l’Hermita, where the vineyards of one of the best wines in Spain are grown. A good panoramic view of the vineyards and the surrounding mountains.

In the heart of the Priorat, we will make a second visit to one of the wineries in the area, with a tasting of their wines. Gratallops has almost as many wineries as inhabitants, and we will be able to taste the wines from this one.

Return to Barcelona, ​​with one of the best experiences of wine tasting and ancient architecture.
