After only googling “day trips from Barcelona to Spanish countryside” this is the one that showed the most promise and boy did it ever deliver! While the drive was as long as described the scenery and destinations make that all well worth it! The tiny country of Andorra holds what is the best restaurant on this planet tucked into a local corner. The owners, ambience, and food cooked over a fire right in front of you will spoil you for life! We gave up extra shopping time in the main area of Andorra for extra time with our food. Montserrat is an added obvious bonus for the drive back into Barcelona. Our guide was the owner’s son and safe, engaging, and shared his love of local history all day. In fact, we loved him so much we booked him to take us on a wineries tour the next day.

The Dali Museum was fantastic, and well worth the trip. Besalu and Girona were beautiful cities and deserve more time than an afternoon but it is great to get out there to see them. They are stunning!!

His passion for the city was evident in his detailed explanations about the Sagrada Familia, where we learned a lot about Gaudí’s vision. In the Gothic Quarter, Nuno showed us hidden gems and shared fascinating stories about Barcelona’s medieval history. At Park Güell, his enthusiasm for Gaudí was infectious, and he guided us through the vibrant mosaics and unique structures. The visit to La Rambla and Mercado Boqueria was transformed into a culinary adventure with their great recommendations for local delicacies. Nuno was always attentive, ensuring our comfort and adapting the tour to our needs. He also provided us with excellent recommendations for the remainder of our stay in Barcelona. We had an awesome experience with Paolo. We were picked up at hotel on time. We had a great time during our drive to Toledo chatting with him. Our tour guide once we arrived in Toledo was amazing . One of our stops was closed for an event and it didn’t matter because we saw a lot. There was a lot of walking uphill and down with very uneven surfaces so don’t choose tour if that is not for you. For us it was worth it. It was just me and my husband and tour guide most of the day. I am not sure if we just happened to be the only ones who booked the tour. The drive back from Segovia was majestic. Even though it was not planned Paolo drove back through forest and mountain area and it was such a scenic drive
