PRIVATE TOUR OF GIRONA AND MEDIEVAL VILLAGES

We will start our trip from your hotel in Barcelona at the agreed time. 

Our first stop will be the city of Girona, known as the “city of the four rivers”. We will start our tour at the Stone Bridge (Pont de Pedra), an iconic place to enjoy the panoramic views of the Onyar River and the famous colorful houses that line its banks. From there, we continue to the Barri Vell, the old town of Girona, which is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets full of history. Here, we will visit the Girona Cathedral, known for its impressive baroque façade and for having the widest Gothic nave in the world. In addition to being a prominent setting for the series “Game of Thrones”. 

We will end our visit to the city of Girona by walking along its ancient walls. A tour that will offer you spectacular views of the city and its surroundings. The walls are accessible from several points in the old town and provide a unique perspective of how the city defended itself in times past. 

We continue our journey towards the picturesque medieval villages, starting with Pals. Upon arrival we will head to the Mirador del Pedró, one of the highest points in the village. From here, you will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view that encompasses the rice fields, the Empordà plain and, on clear days, even the Pyrenees. This is the perfect place to take some photos and capture the beauty of the surroundings. 

From the viewing point, we will descend through the narrow streets flanked by stone houses decorated with colourful flowers. We will visit the Torre de les Hores, a 12th-century Romanesque tower that used to form part of the old defensive wall. Its name comes from the bell tower added in the 15th century. The tower is one of the emblems of Pals and offers a fascinating insight into medieval architecture. 

In Pals we can enjoy the town’s rich Mediterranean cuisine, taking time for lunch. Afterwards, just 10 minutes by car, we will head towards Peratallada, another beautiful medieval town with a castle, walls, moats and palaces. Once there, we will enjoy a walk through its cobbled streets and the stone facades that characterize this town. The Plaza de les Voltes is the heart of Peratallada, known for its well-preserved medieval center. 

Finally, we will return to Barcelona and drop you off at your hotel, completing a day full of history, culture and impressive landscapes. 

Finally, we will close this day of adventure by returning to Barcelona.
