OVERVIEW OF THE CITY TOUR BARBECUE AND CALÇOTS
This tour is designed for groups who wish to enjoy an authentic Catalan experience focused on the tradition of calçots.
We will start the day with a pick-up at the hotel at around 11:00 am where our guide will welcome you. During the journey to the indicated place, he will introduce us to the tradition of calçots in Catalonia. During this tour, we will learn about the cultivation and harvesting process.
We will move to an outdoor space with barbecue facilities, where we will begin to prepare the grill. A guide will show us how to do it properly, including the type of wood or charcoal to use. While we are preparing the cooking process, we will carry out a tasting with a tasting of three wines, from different wine regions of Catalonia, where we will learn about the different varieties and their pairing with calçots.
After cooking the calçots, it will be time for the tasting. We will serve the grilled calçots with the traditional romesco sauce. Usually, calçots are offered with different grilled meat options, such as ribs, sausage or grilled chicken to complement the experience. The food will be paired with the wines we have tasted, creating an authentic feast.
We will close the tour with a toast and an exchange of impressions about the experience. This activity will not only allow you to enjoy Catalan cuisine, but will also foster a connection with the local culture through one of its most beloved traditions.
